First of all I must thank my late father’s younger brother, RONALD (Ron) JELLIS, for it is upon his efforts that my own project was initially based. My sister Stephanie Jane sent me a copy of Part 6 of Ron’s research into our family’s history which covered our direct relations, i.e. the descendants of JOSEPH JELLIS of Flitwick & ELIZABETH YATES.
I include, below, Ron’s acknowledgements from that section of his work, in the hope that, if the people mentioned do eventually visit this site, they may be able to update me. The document to which I refer was originally issued in April 1983 and I am sure that many new members of the family have joined us in the last 27 years.

For help with the other sections of this project, I have to thank my good friend, Frank Schneidereit, who has an uncanny knack of unearthing information from sources where I would hardly think of looking. Some of the information has been entirely relevant to this project, other data, although not applicable to my project, are both interesting and enlightening. In the latter case, under the section ‘JELLIS on the Internet’, I will be including snippets found that may be of interest to other researchers.
The number of different sites where data has been gleaned for this project are too many to list here, but I will mention the following, as they have been very helpful indeed.
Ancestry.com
Especially the family tree of Bill Deverell and Beadsmore. The ‘boards’ are interesting reading, but may I ask that any contributor include their email addresses within their comments.
MyHeritage.com
(the smart-linking feature is a very useful tool)
I will also mention here ‘The Jellis Family Club’ on Facebook. Although there aren’t too many members as yet, I think that it may become a fast an very useful tool for anyone researching the Jellis family; whatever branch.
Last, but not least, I would like to thank you for visiting this site. It being a free website, I don’t earn any money from it, but I would ask you to sign the guest book and/or email me any comments you may have on how I may enhance it, for the benefit of others.
